Work in progress. Canvas is 70 cm x 40 cm in real life.
Referenced from screenshots.
I’m a huge LotR dork. I watched the trilogy again but I didn’t feel like planning any great fanart. I needed practice and thought I’d make it fun by making small quick paints by referencing from screenshots. It’s always nice to start building a palette from a photo, without eyedropper (that’s cheating!)
Worlds of Gaming by Eva Vilhelmiina Eskelinen
I loves me some good fanarts, but the immersive masterpieces of Eva have evolved from colorful homages into extraordinary multi-faceted realms with their own gravity and physics. And while I recognize the characters from Zelda and Journey, Eva’s creations occupy a space all their own in deep, penetrative worlds somewhere beyond the solar system of video games.

Photoset of my fan art works from 2011 - 2012. Thank you for the feature!
These are probably my personal favorites of my work from year 2012.
In art for year 2013, I want to paint and draw more traditionally, it’s too easy to get absorbed in digital drawing. While I like the results, the joy I get from traditional art is different. More animation, more comics.

Bit of the process for the previous picture. Umf, I don’t know how to export better quality gif, probably not possible even, hmm.
Partly process, partly just how I like to organize my layers.

I participated in secret santa thingy this year, and I drew arts for firstfruits of her oc’s: http://firstfruits.tumblr.com/ http://firstfruits.deviantart.com/
I’m not entirely pleased with the composition but I insisted myself on drawing something else than just one character… I draw so very little interaction and atmosphere it just personally drives me nuts. I hope she likes it aaaghghfgh
